About Wayne

Three decades on the front line, now working for you.

Wayne Kauffmann is president of SAGE Security Consulting. His work today centers on building the awareness, preparation and mindset people need to handle both man-made and natural threats.

Before founding SAGE, Wayne spent 21 years as an FBI Special Agent and nine years with the US Marshals Service. He worked fugitive, violent crime and counterterrorism investigations, and held leadership positions on the FBI's special operations teams.

He was a certified firearms, defensive tactics and ALERRT active-shooter instructor for federal, state and local agencies across the country. Since retiring in 2018 he has trained foreign government security personnel in violent crime, counterterrorism and national security preparedness.
